Love 'em or hate 'em, Tallink gets the job done
Is this the Estonian Nokia?
Tallink Grupp transported 523,103 passengers in December 2006 which is 123.3% more than in December 2005. So despite some speculation that the firm’s tarnished image would hurt the business, December numbers seem to indicate passengers’ primary concern is arriving at the destination safely. On a like-for-like comparison basis, passenger volume increased by 4.6% on the Estonia-Finland route and 20.4% on the Estonia-Sweden route.
Some may dislike Tallink, but the company both employs and transports a staggering number of people. While many may be uncomfortable with it, this firm which dominates the Baltic Sea may indeed be the Estonian Nokia.
