9,000,000 refugees in the world: Only 4 in Estonia
Over 90 percent of Estonian inhabitants have never had any contact with the issue of refugees, according to a recent study. Presently, there are four official refugees in Estonia, and only ten persons have received residence permits based on humanitarian considerations. Thirty percent of Estonians polled believed there are 101-1,000 refugees in the country.
Ironically, only two percent of Estonians agreed that refugees should come to Estonia from African countries, while 53% said they would agree to live next door to a black person. So, as we understand it, Estonians agree to live next to a black family, as long as that black family comes from Finland.
