Adamkus named Ukraine's Man of the Year

Some recompense for criticism by fellow Balts?

For contributions to public life and policy in Ukraine, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus will receive the International Man of the Year Award of Ukraine this week in Kiev. Pope John Paul II became the first winner of this award in 2001. In 2002, the award was conferred to Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, and a year later it was given to Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
