Why not make it 148?
The European Parliament is planning to make a decision about amending the Working Time Directive this coming June. When commenting on the proposal to legalize a forty-eight hour working week in Lithuania.
The Lithuanian Confederation of Business Employers supports this proposal. However, Algirdas Sysas, chairman of parliament’s social affairs and labor committee, holds the opposite opinion, however. He asserts that Lithuanian employees work longer than those in other EU member states but their salaries are among the lowest.
A 48-hour work week? Knowing something about work in the region, we wonder if it would it make any difference if the law read 148?
