New US ambassador arrives in Lithuania

Former US Ambassador Stephen D. Mull has been replaced by John A. Cloud, who will present his credentials on August 17th to President Valdas Adamkus. Mr. Cloud is a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service (other current US ambassadors to the Baltic states are political appointees) and previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission at US embassies in Germany and Poland. The ambassador holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Connecticut and a Masters degree in International Affairs from George Washington University.
