Presidential candidates trade insults
And Ilves carries the day
The Centre Party’s chairman Edgar Savisaar said Tuesday in a TV broadcast that if Toomas Hendrik Ilves were elected president, the president’s chancellery would not be led by Ilves but rather by his advisors. Ilves took the broadside and then retaliated, commenting that if he were elected president, he would be led only by the Estonian constitution. Point, game, set, and match to Mr. Ilves.
