Homeless football
Uganda over Estonia, 9:3
“They played like young gods,” exclaimed the Estonian homeless football team’s website of the Ugandan players. The Estonian team is taking part in the Homeless World Cup in Cape Town with its mission to “Kick off poverty.” All teams are comprised of homeless members.
While in a tournament like this, taking part is as important as winning, a word of explanation in support for the Estonian team: The average Ugandan player was 18 years old. The Estonian player averages twice that age.
